We will provide you with the following:

Ice Axe
Helmet
Harness
Ice Screw
You will need:
Mountaineering Boots
Daypack (30-40 litres)
All Meals (including lunches)
Water bottle
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Camera
Headlamp (with new batteries)
Blister kit
First aid items
Trekking pole (optional)
Skill Level
This course is purpose built for beginners or for people who may have some previous exposure to mountaineering in the past, but want to revisit or enhance their mountaineering skill set. By the end of the course you will comfortable with the basics of mountaineering.
Location
This course will take place at the Columbia Icefields Center in Jasper National Park. We will camp at the Icefields campground for the weekend.
Duration
This is a 2 day course that takes place typically on a weekend with a 4:1 ratio with an ACMG Mountain Guide with over 22 years of guiding and instructional experience.

Our Mountaineering Foundation Skills course will introduce you to the world of general mountaineering and mountain climbing.
On this 2 day technical mountain climbing course, you will receive instruction on techniques for ice and snow climbing for beginners, an understanding of safe glacier travel and crevasse rescue. You will learn current mountaineering techniques as well as gain an understanding of how mountaineering equipment is used in practice.
This mountaineering skills course is designed for people with no mountaineering experience. Many of the folks who seek this kind of course often are from a background of hiking, scrambling or rock climbing.
