Introduction to rock climbing


Course Details

This program is designed for anyone who ever wanted to try rock climbing and discover why it is one the most popular new outdoor sports out there at the moment. We will teach you the basics climbing safety including how to put on a harness, the purpose of a climbing rope and how to tie in safely using climbing specific knots. You will also learn clear, standardized communication, how to belay your climbing partner up the rock and also how to lower them back down safely to the ground.


This tour will take place in beautiful Banff, Canmore, or Lake Louise, Alberta depending on where you are located while visiting Banff National Park or the Kananaskis Country area in the Bow Valley.

Day Rock Experience is available for most calendar days over the summer.

Course Information

This course is for anyone wanting to learn rock climbing in a safe, fun-filled environment that the entire family can enjoy. Ask us about 1/2 day rock climbing outings as well.

A full day or half day rock climbing lessons are available on a daily basis throughout the summer. Exhilarating fun for beginners to learn how to rock climb in the Canadian Rockies with a certified ACMG Mountain Guide.

Day Rock Experience is an unforgettable way to experience Banff National Park, Canmore, Lake Louise or Kananaskis Country Provincial Park.
